As of March 4, Tien’s Facebook account had 2.6 million followers. In addition to the deactivation of her Facebook account, her TikTok account has also been shut down.

While her Instagram account remains active, all posts have been hidden or removed, leading many to speculate that this is her way of staying silent and avoiding critical comments, according to Thanh Nien Newspaper.

In Dec. 2024, Tien announced a collaboration with influencers Pham Quang Linh and Nguyen Thi Thai Hang to launch Kera Supergreens Gummies, a fiber supplement. Tien promoted the product on her Facebook page, claiming that “a gummy contains a dish’s worth of vegetables,” positioning it as a nutritious snack for both children and adults.

However, a consumer later found discrepancies between the advertised ingredients and the actual content of the product after testing it at the Quality Assurance and Testing Center 2. The results revealed that the entire 30-gummy box contained only 0.51 grams of fiber, much less than advertised, sparking public backlash. In response, Tien removed the posts from her Facebook page.

The Ho Chi Minh City Food Safety Department later released the results of a product test for Kera Supergreens Gummies, conducted at the request of the Ministry of Health’s Food Safety Department. The test confirmed that the levels of sugar, protein, fat, and energy content were consistent with the product’s official self-declaration. However, the packaging failed to mention the fiber content, despite marketing the product as a fiber supplement. Authorities ruled out that the product was “counterfeit.”

Following the investigation, Tien, Linh, and Hang were summoned for questioning, where they admitted to providing inaccurate information about the product. Linh and Hang were each fined VND140 million (US$5,426) for misleading advertising, while Tien was fined VND25 million for failing to disclose that her social media posts about the product were sponsored, apparently violating advertising regulations.

The Dak Lak Provincial Police then announced that Tien has been temporarily banned from leaving Vietnam from March 15 to May 15 as part of the ongoing investigation.

Amid the controversy, Dior has removed a photo of Tien attending the brand’s show at this year’s Paris Fashion Week shortly after being named its “Friend of the House.”

At 26, Tien made history as the first Vietnamese contestant to win the Miss Grand International title.
