Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India],: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) assistant bowling coach Sridharan Sriram defended his team’s dismal performance in its opening few games, stating that it is not the first time and that some teams take time to find their lineup and roles. This was ahead of his team’s away game against Punjab Kings (PBKS).

PBKS’s home season began poorly with a defeat to Rajasthan Royals after two crushing away victories. Five-time champions CSK, who are presently having a rough time and sit in ninth place with three wins and three defeats, will be their next opponent at home on Tuesday. CSK has a much to improve, particularly in their batting, whether it’s the underwhelming performances of their openers, the erratic play of their middle order, or MS Dhoni’s inability to complete games on the right side.

“I think this is not the first time any team is going through this,” Sriram said during the pre-match news conference before to the game. I believe it is still very early in the process; we will take it day by day and then focus more on preparing for the next opponent. Some teams start out strong, while others take their time figuring out their lineups and positions.”

In addition, he said that “there is no fixed batting order” According to CSK’s official website, he went on, “I believe it is for the coach and the captain to deliberate and come up with what’s best for the team and the opposition and the condition.”

“We have restricted teams to 180, which is, I think, par score in modern day cricket,” Sriram remarked, indicating that the squad is doing rather well as a bowling unit. Therefore, I believe we are doing quite well from a bowling perspective.

Additionally, he showed confidence in the team’s key spinners, Noor Ahmed, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Ravindra Jadeja, stating that they are capable of adapting to any surface or opponent and challenging them.

Therefore, we are not too concerned with the past. It just comes down to how we organise, carry out, and adapt to the circumstances on that particular day,” he said.
