Introduction to Nidhi Tiwari
Nidhi Tiwari's Career Path: Nidhi Tiwari, an IFS officer from the 2014 batch, achieved the 96th rank in the Civil Services Examination in 2013. Prior to her new role, she had been part of the PMO for over two years, having joined as an Under Secretary in November 2022.
Before her tenure at the PMO, she served as the Assistant Commissioner (Commercial Tax) in Varanasi and worked in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) focusing on Disarmament and International Security Affairs, directly reporting to NSA Ajit Doval.
As reported, Nidhi completed her B.Sc in Biochemistry from Lucknow University in 2004. She later pursued an M.Sc in Biochemistry at BHU, where she was honored as a Gold Medalist upon graduation in 2007.
While studying in Varanasi, Nidhi met Sushil Jaiswal, a medical student. Their interactions in the lab blossomed into a relationship, leading to their marriage in December 2006.
After their wedding, Nidhi aimed to become a scientist and joined Bhabha Atomic Research Center (BARC) in 2007. However, her aspiration to enter the bureaucracy led her to prepare for the UPPSC exam after the birth of her son in 2008.
Nidhi returned home after her son's birth to focus on her UPSC preparations. She successfully passed the UPPSC exam in 2008, securing a position as Assistant Commissioner. In 2011, she moved to Delhi to pursue her UPSC ambitions.
Her hard work paid off in 2013 when she achieved her dream of becoming an IFS officer, ranking 96th in the civil services exam. By 2017, she had a desk position in the Ministry of External Affairs.
Sushil Jaiswal, Nidhi's husband, is a distinguished doctor and a laparoscopic surgeon based in Varanasi. He specializes in knee replacements, head and neck surgeries, and anesthesia, boasting 22 years of experience. He is frequently invited to train others in laparoscopic techniques at prestigious institutions like AIIMS and Sir Gangaram Hospital in Delhi.
