Obnews Automobile Desk: Vehicle drivers passing through toll plazas in and around Lucknow will have to pay more toll fees from April 1. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has issued a notification of new toll rates for 2025-26. These revised rates will be applicable from 12 noon on 31 March, which will affect many major routes including Lucknow, Nawabganj, Barabanki, Sultanpur, Ayodhya, Rae Bareli.
NHAI Project Director Saurabh Chaurasia said that the toll rates are changed every year. This time too, rates have been increased from 5 to 10 rupees. In addition, monthly pass rates have also increased. Under the new toll fee, the drivers will have to pay more at the 12 major toll plazas of Lucknow zone.
Under the new toll rates, the fee on various toll plazas adjacent to Lucknow will be as follows-
Lucknow-Nawabganj-Kanpur Road
Barabanki and nearby toll
Ayodhya and Rae Bareli route
Toll of Bahraich and Balrampur
Toll of Sultanpur and Hardoi
These increased rates will affect millions of vehicles every day, as about 10 lakh small and big vehicles pass through these toll plazas daily. Vehicle drivers will now have to pay more toll on every trip, which can make the journey expensive.

New toll rates applicable from April 1 will increase the operational expenses of vehicles. Especially people visiting daily and long route travelers will have an impact. The toll rates are amended every year by NHAI, so that revenue can be obtained for road construction and maintenance.
