The Indian Premier League 2025 match between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Guwahati on Wednesday was briefly interrupted due to a pitch invader.

Riyan Parag, who was gearing up to start the 12th over of the innings, had to cut his run up short on the first delivery when the invader hugged him.

Riyan, who is also the stand-in captain for Rajasthan, enjoys a massive fan following in Guwahati, which is the capital city of his home state Assam. Though the franchise is based out of Jaipur, it plays two games every season at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati to tap this fan base.

Rajasthan eventually lost the match by eight wickets, its second reverse of the season. It will play Chennai Super Kings next on Sunday at the same venue.

This is the second time a fan has entered the ground from the stands. A pitch invader had disrupted the opening match of the season between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and KKR in Kolkata to meet Virat Kohli.
