In Monday's episode of Emmerdale, fans will be treated to a nostalgic throwback.
Kim Tate recently hired Ross Barton for security purposes to keep an eye on Joe Tate. Regular viewers might recall that Joe is grappling with chronic kidney disease and his outlook is bleak without a transplant.
After unsuccessfully trying to secure a kidney from his half-brother, Noah Dingle, by drugging him, he was informed by his private physician, Dr Crowley, that Noah wasn't a match. As a result, Joe turned his attention to another relative, his uncle Caleb Milligan.
In the forthcoming scenes, Ross observes Joe closely and shares his findings with Kim, who insists she needs solid proof of whatever Joe is scheming.
Later, Dr Crowley and Joe hold a secret meeting in a lay-by to finalise their plans. However, their discussion is abruptly interrupted when Ross knocks on their car window, causing Dr Crowley to panic and suggest postponing unless Joe can resolve the situation, reports Leeds Live.
Soon after, Ross receives a distressing call informing him that his brother, Pete, has been assaulted. He rushes off to visit him in hospital, leaving the coast clear for Dr Crowley and Joe's sinister plot.
Soap enthusiasts will feel a wave of nostalgia at the mention of Pete, who was last seen in the village in 2020.
Pete, portrayed by Anthony Quinlan, left the village in 2020 to join his brother Ross in Liverpool, who had departed in 2018.
Since leaving the ITV soap, 40-year-old Anthony, who played Pete, has shifted his focus to fitness.
After his departure from the show, he has launched a vegan supplements business and an online coaching platform aimed at helping clients "lose weight and get lean".
In his personal life, things are looking up for Anthony as well. In 2022, he revealed that he's in a relationship with Hollyoaks star Nikki Sanderson, and the pair are still going strong, having recently enjoyed a dreamy getaway to Cyprus.
Elsewhere, Joe Gill, who portrayed Finn Barton, Anthony's on-screen brother, from 2013 to 2017, has been busy with various acting gigs.
The 31-year-old actor took to the stage as Hareton Earnshaw in 'Wuthering Heights' in 2020, donned a police uniform for 'Brassic' in 2022, and was seen in the autumn tour of Helen Forrester's 'By The Waters Of Liverpool'.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
