Washing machines are prone to accumulating dirt, , and bacteria, but one of the worst places for mould growth is the washing machine seal. Mould on washing machine seals is caused by moisture, warm temperatures, and a buildup of dirt and detergent. Not keeping washing machine doors open after they've been used can also cause mould to develop.

Removing mould from washing machine seals can be difficult as mould often becomes ingrained in the rubber. However, fans of sensation have shared their go-to method, which they claim "works wonders". Catherine Mcgee posted on the group, 'Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips' asking for advice regarding her daughter's mould washing machine seal. She wrote: "My daughter bought her first house in November and just moved in last week.

"When she opened the washing machine, the rubber sealant around the rim was covered in black mould. We've tried cleaning it with Astonish mould removers but it makes very little difference.

"The mould is ingrained through the rubber. Would it not be safe to use in this condition? It's only two years old. Can anyone please help? After buying her first home by herself, money is short."

The post was inundated with more than 60 comments from fellow cleaning enthusiasts. The solution that came highly recommended by Mrs Hinch fans was a product called "Mould Magic".

Stacey Jayne Curran said: "Mould Magic works perfectly. You can't even see where it's been. Amazing stuff."

Joanne Astin agreed and wrote: "Mould Magic gel." She later commented, claiming the product was the "best thing ever".

Madelaine Blank replied: "Mould Magic is the best. I have used it around the house several times."

Shirley Gavin commented: "Another vote for Mould Magic from Must Have Ideas. Amazing stuff."

Mould Magic is available to buy from Must Have Ideas for £12.99 and claims to "eliminate 100% of mould" from "any" surface.

The product has received lots of positive reviews on Trustpilot, with many users claiming the gel "works wonders" on washing machines.

One user said: "Mould magic has worked wonders on my washing machine seal. I've tried lots of products to remove the mould previously and nothing would shift it... until now! Will be starting on the bathroom grouting tomorrow!"

Another wrote: "I bought some Mould Magic to clean my washing machine, at first I was a bit dubious but I have to say it is excellent. My washing machine looks like new. Will definitely recommend to family and friends."

Alternatively, Mrs Hinch fans also recommended using bleach, HG mould spray and dishwasher tablets to remove mould from washing machine seals.

Judith Laughton said: "Kitchen roll soaked in bleach and left over it should work! Engineer's tip and works for me."

Wilma Naylor commented: "HG mould spray. Allow to soak into kitchen roll and pack where mouldy. Leave overnight. Worked for me."

Geraldine Dickinson replied: "A couple of dishwasher tablets."
