Jaipur: In the ongoing investigation into the cheating and paper leak associated with the Sub Inspector Recruitment 2021, police have continued to apprehend individuals involved. The Special Operations Group (SOG) has now made its 52nd arrest, taking into custody Sub Inspector Monika Jat from the Jhunjhunu Police Line. Monika's involvement was flagged months ago, but she evaded capture by taking medical leave and subsequently going absent without explanation. Ultimately, the SOG has successfully apprehended her.

Allegations of Cheating via Bluetooth
Monika Jat accused of cheating using Bluetooth

The investigation has revealed extensive copying during the SI Recruitment 2021 examination. Following the arrest of the alleged mastermind behind the cheating operation, Porav Kaleer, numerous station in-charges who benefited from the cheating have been identified, including Monika. Upon learning of Kaleer's arrest, Monika attempted to evade the situation by taking medical leave during her training. According to SOG ADG VK Singh, Monika was reportedly assisted in her cheating by the Porav Kaleer gang using Bluetooth technology.

Questionable Academic Performance
92% marks in Hindi but don't know how to write

Despite being arrested, Monika Jat's academic credentials raise eyebrows. She achieved an impressive 92% in the written examination for SI Recruitment 2021, scoring 184 out of 200 in Hindi and 161 in general knowledge. However, her writing skills are reportedly poor. In a letter to the SP for her posting in Jhunjhunu, she made numerous spelling errors, including miswriting her designation as 'Nirakshak' instead of Inspector. During her interview, she scored only 13 out of 50, yet her high written exam scores secured her selection, placing her 34th in the state rankings.

Allegations of a Bribe
The deal was done for 15 lakhs

Monika and her family maintain her innocence, claiming she was selected fairly. However, Porav Kaleer, the alleged mastermind, has stated that he facilitated Monika's cheating in both the Hindi and General Knowledge papers via Bluetooth, for which she allegedly paid him 15 lakh rupees. To date, the SOG has arrested a total of 86 individuals, including 52 selected station house officers.

Ongoing Legal Proceedings
SI recruitment paper leak case is in High Court

The SI recruitment examination is currently under scrutiny due to the paper leak and cheating allegations, with the possibility of cancellation looming. The SOG's charge sheet has confirmed widespread leaks and the selection of numerous fraudulent candidates. Consequently, the SOG has recommended that the examination be annulled. Following this, the Police Headquarters has echoed this recommendation, and both the Cabinet Committee and the Advocate General have suggested cancellation as well. However, a final decision from the government is still pending, with the matter now before the Rajasthan High Court.
