Plus-sized influencer and music artist Dank Demoss, also known as Dajua Blanding, weighs over 222 kgs. She recently filed a lawsuit against ride-hailing app Lyft after a driver refused her entry due to her size. The rapper accused the company of unfair treatment and shared the discriminatory incident in a video, which has gone viral on social media.
The Detroit-based rapper recorded her encounter with a Lyft driver who allegedly denied her entry, claiming his tyres couldn't support her weight.
In an interview with Fox News Detroit, she revealed that she has taken legal action against Lyft, arguing that the refusal was discriminatory. Reportedly, her lawyers asserted that weight is a 'protected characteristic' under Michigan law.
On Instagram, Dank shared a video of her trying to convince the driver that she could fit into the car. Despite her assurances, he refused, citing space limitations.
"I'm sorry, I have no space at all. My car is small," he said in the video. When she argued, he suggested booking an Uber XL instead. She replied, "I can fit in this car," to which he insisted, "Believe me, you can’t."
