Earlier this month, Heeseung , formerly an ENHYPEN member, announced that he will officially be leaving the group in order to focus on solo activities . The sudden announcement has been met with a lot of backlash as of late, with many netizens and fans commenting about how this should not have happened. The soloist had been on a brief hiatus for the past 10 to 15 days; however, they recently returned to schedule with new activities, which have yet again sparked a new wave of debate and backlash amongst fans.

Heeseung returns to regular activities after announcing his departure from ENHYPENOn March 22, the idol returned to his activities by holding video calls with his fans through a specialized event. Fans took to social media to share clips of their calls with the idol, one of which ended up going viral because of what he said.
During one of the videos, the idol was heard reassuring fans that he was really okay, however, commenting about how surprised they all must have been because of the announcement. He said, “What I want to do/say? I know you must have been really surprised… but I’m totally okay. Still, a part of me feels a bit apologetic, too.”
Heeseung’s return comment met with mixed reactionsAs soon as the video went viral online, many people shared their opinions on social media. Some criticized him for his comments and how he left the group so abruptly, while there were also others who took a stand for him. They commented that no matter what the idol has to say, some people will always blow it out of proportion.
One person commented, “and don't mind me still calling heeseung enhypen like when i say ‘i love enhypen’ he's included. I don't really careeee.” Many also commented about how they will continue to support both Heeseung and ENHYPEN as artists, no matter what. One person shared a post about their support, saying “enhypen confirmed that the concert announcement will drop soon and that they are working on a new album while heeseung also confirmed that his solo album will come out soon too.. i never thought this day would come but regardless, i’m supporting both ot6 and soloist heeseung (heart emoji).”
During the video calls, Heeseung also confirmed that he is currently working on his solo album and will share regular updates with fans. While the singer and dancer has left ENHYPEN, he is still under the same management agency as the group.
