According to mythological beliefs, in this holy month, Lord Shiva accepted her as a wife, pleased with the penance of Goddess Parvati. Since then, this tradition has been going on that worshiping Shiva-Parvati in Sawan makes the marital life happy and removes all kinds of obstacles.
Get up in Brahma Muhurta and take a bath: Wake up early in the morning and take a bath with water mixed with Ganga water. Wear clean clothes and remember Shiva in your mind.
Fasting and Satvik Diet: Fast all day and consume fruits, milk or water. Stay away from salt, chilli, tamasic food.
Offer Panchamrit and Belpatra on Shivling: In the worship of Lord Shiva, you must offer Panchamrit, milk, water, bell -paper, dhatura and white flowers. Chant ‘Om Namah Shivaya’.
Do Shiva Aarti in the evening and Arghya to Moon: After the fast, perform the aarti of Shiva in the evening and offer water to the moon. This gives mental peace and virtue.
Keep purity in speech, behavior and thinking: Avoid lying, condemning and thinking bad. Keep a sense of restraint, celibacy and service. Donate food, clothes, water or Dakshina to the needy.
