Outlander sensation Graham McTavish has spilled the beans on what lies ahead for his series alongside Sam Heughan, reports the Scottish Daily Express.

The pair have gained tremendous popularity with Starz's Men in Kilts: A Roadtrip with Sam and Graham, with two engaging seasons already under their belts.

Speculation continues about whether there will be another series of the show.

In an exclusive with Reach Screen Time, the seasoned 65 year old who also stars as Dougal MacKenzie remarked: "Season two was difficult enough to make because it was aligning our schedules, and at the same time being able to film it in an environment where there was sunshine. So we couldn't film in Scotland, that's why we ended up in New Zealand because it was the summer there.

"But we would love to do it, season three. Both of us would love to do a season three. It really depends on whether we're both be able to do it.

McTavish divulged more: "Sam's off to play Macbeth, I'm doing two films. Then, I've been doing another show for Starz - Spartacus - and that's going to premiere in September and that's ongoing."

Despite the myriad commitments inundating their diaries, McTavish confirmed that the dynamic duo has grand plans for a third season of Men In Kilts.

The actor elaborated: "In terms of shooting, it's only like three weeks but it's not easy. But we would love to do it and if we do it, we'd both agreed we would want to do North America.

"Going from Nova Scotia right the way down the Eastern Seaboard of the United States to go into Maine, Virginia, North Carolina, New York, all of these places that the Scots had such an extraordinary presence in."

The hit series Men In Kilts first graced our screens in 2021, with stars Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish delving into the rich tapestry of Scottish history and culture.

Originally conceived as the podcast Clanlands, the concept evolved into a television sensation, taking viewers on a journey across Scotland's breathtaking landscapes. The show's success led to a second season in 2023, where the charismatic duo ventured to New Zealand to uncover its Scottish ties.

To enhance the experience, they also penned a companion book for enthusiasts eager to delve deeper. Known for their lively on-screen chemistry, Heughan and McTavish are notorious for their playful antics and practical jokes.

Despite the clamour for more, fans may have to be patient for a third instalment as the actors juggle their packed timetables. Currently, McTavish is occupied with his Raindance-nominated film Dirty Boy, which has just made its UK debut and is set for an August cinema release.

In this chilling psychological thriller, McTavish embodies the sinister cult leader Walter Wentworth, struggling to maintain control over his followers as one attempts to reveal their murderous secrets. Reflecting on the role, McTavish remarked it's among the most malevolent he's portrayed in his "rolodex of villains".

He discussed Wentworth's mindset, explaining how the character would rationalise his own deeds and chillingly likened him to Jeffrey Epstein.

Moving on to his upcoming work, he revealed: "I'm off to do a movie in Canada in August and then I'm doing a movie in New Zealand at the end of October.

"Both very different. One's a Western horror movie and the New Zealand one is a beautiful sort of family-orientated film."

Dirty Boy has its UK Premiere at Raindance Film Festival on June 22 and is in UK Cinemas from 22nd August
