QPR have parted ways with manager Marti Cifuentes following a spell of garden leave, the club has confirmed.

Appointed in 2023, the Spanish coach steered QPR to Championship safety last term amid a challenging start and widespread injuries in his squad.

The move follows after Cifuentes took an eight-week break from the club, during which time he attracted interest from elsewhere.

On the club's official social media channel, Cifuentes shared: "Today I say goodbye to Queens Park Rangers with a heart full of gratitude."

He expressed pride over his contributions to QPR: "I am proud to have been a part of this club and to have contributed, alongside a fantastic team of players and coaching staff, to ensuring the club's continued presence in the Championship over the last few seasons."

Reflecting on special moments, he recalled: "We had some amazing nights under the lights of Loftus Road – remembering Stan Bowles being one that sticks with me."

QPR CEO Christian Nourry acknowledged Cifuentes' efforts saying: "I would like to thank Marti wholeheartedly for having a positive impact during his two years here."

Nourry highlighted the achievements Cifuentes made despite hardships: "He did a fantastic job to help us remain in the division when he first came in under difficult circumstances, and he worked hard to repeat that again in 2024-25."

QPR wished Cifuentes success in future endeavors: "We wish him well for whatever comes next."
