The move follows as the stress among overseas students and their families regarding delayed U.S. visas, security concerns, and the evolution of new international guidelines—all of which are impacting their experience—has increased.
The program was posted on social media by Ashoka co-founder Sanjeev Bikhchandani, who wrote that the university aims to help students seeking continuity in studies and a world-class education in India. "Ashoka University announces a Special Admissions Round for the 2025 batch of the Undergraduate Programme for students with offers from universities based in the United States of America only."

- Note: Already applied candidates for Ashoka for 2025 intake are not eligible
