Punjab Kings (PBKS) reached the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) after an 11-year wait as it beat Mumbai Indians by five wickets in Qualifier 2 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Monday.

Punjab, whose only other appearance in the summit clash of the IPL ended in a three-wicket defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders in 2014, will face Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the final at the same venue on Tuesday.

Punjab and Bengaluru finished first and second, respectively, in the IPL 2025 standings after the league stage, and subsequently faced off in Qualifier 1 on Thursday in Mullanpur. Bengaluru emerged victorious in that game, beating Punjab by eight wickets to book a place in the final after nine years.

Both Punjab and RCB are eyeing their first IPL title and the world’s most lucrative franchise cricket league is set to crown a new champion.
