Delhi University (DU) on Tuesday launched the portal for UG admission in the academic session 2025-26. Along with this, DU has also announced the rules for admission for the academic session 2025-26. DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh, while talking to reporters on Tuesday, said that two new PG courses have started at DU this year. He said that this year MA in Hindi Journalism and an MA in Tourism Management course have been started. The Vice-Chancellor further said that MA Journalism will also be started soon in the English Department of DU.



53609 registrations for PG admission

DU on Tuesday officially launched undergraduate, postgraduate, 5-year law, BTech and PhD, and SOL admission. During this, Vice Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh also launched the Bulletin of Information related to admissions. During this, Vice Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh said that the registration process for PG admission was conducted from 16 May to 12 June. A total of 53, 609 candidates have registered during this period, including 23117 boys and 30490 girls, while 2 transgender candidates are included. He said that the number of applications received for single girl child quota in PG is 1,131. The number of applications received for the orphan quota is 90.



Single Girl Child Quota in PG



DU is going to implement a single girl child quota for admission in PG i.e. post-graduation seats from this year. DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Yogesh Singh said that one seat of every PG course in every college will be reserved for a single girl child (the only female child of her parents), which will be an additional seat. From the year 2024, DU implemented a single girl child quota in UG admission.



6,030 registrations for BTech admission



DU conducts BTech Computer Science Engineering, BTech Electronics and Communication Engineering, and BTech Electrical Engineering courses. DU gives admission in these B. Tech programs based on JEE (Mains), but for this students have to register separately in DU. This time the registration process for admission in B.Tech programs was conducted from 16 May to 12 June. During this period, a total of 6,030 candidates have registered, of which the number of boys is 4,349 and the number of girls is 1,681.
