A 68-year-old UK national has died in Rhodes. The British man lost consciousness after going for a swim at Lindos Beach on the Greek island. Officers from the Central Port Authority of Rhodes rushed to the spot and took the man to the nearby Archangelos Health Centre.
There, he was pronounced dead, reports. An autopsy is due to take place to reveal the cause of the man's death. While the exact circumstances remain unclear, authorities believe the man may have experienced a medical emergency while in the water as witnesses observed him struggling in the water before losing consciousness.
Just two days ago, a 31-year-old woman from Bulgaria tragically lost her life while kitesurfing off the coast of Rhodes, Greek news outlet, reported.
The incident took place near Kremasti beach in the Ialyssos area.
Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, medical staff were unable to revive her, and she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
