Elisha Mayor's Journey in 'Hai Junoon'

Elisha Mayor is captivating audiences with her role in the new web series 'Hai Junoon'. Beginning her career as a dancer at the tender age of three, she later participated in Miss India before making her mark in acting. In a recent interview, Elisha shared her experiences on the set of 'Hai Junoon', including her collaboration with renowned director Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Reflecting on her time working on 'Hai Junoon', she stated, “The process was extensive and exhausting, yet incredibly rewarding. We filmed for fifty-five days and rehearsed for around seventy to eighty days. It truly felt like a family among the cast.”

She continued, “The most challenging aspect was performing our complex characters while dancing every day. After shooting, we would head straight to rehearsals.”

Learning from Jacqueline Fernandez

Elisha praised her co-star Jacqueline Fernandez, noting, “Jacqueline is a seasoned actress. Whenever she was on stage, we all learned from her. She understands the camera and her angles perfectly. Working with a top-tier actor like her taught me how to present myself effectively while delivering a stellar performance. She was always supportive and engaged with our humor.”

She added, “The key lesson from her was her calm demeanor on set. Despite her professionalism, she maintained a light-hearted atmosphere, making the experience enjoyable.”

Transitioning from Pageants to Acting

Elisha also took part in Miss Universe India in 2018. Discussing her transition to acting, she remarked, “I always aimed to enter pageants as a stepping stone into acting. The talent management from pageants opens doors and helps you get noticed.”

She expressed, “Leaving the pageant, I felt empowered and confident. I observed young girls participating, and it reinforced that perfection is not necessary. It’s about presenting yourself confidently, embracing your flaws, and stepping into the world with assurance.”

Working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali

Many may not know that Elisha has also collaborated with Sanjay Leela Bhansali on the project 'Heeramandi'. Recalling her experience, she said, “You must be prepared and bring your best. Working with him is magical; he knows how to collaborate with artists and respects their contributions. He is a perfectionist and quite strict.”

She concluded, “I enjoyed working with him on two songs, and I look forward to returning to work with him as an actor in the future.”
