Hyderabad: The Airports Authority of India has recovered the ill-fated Air India flight AI-171‘s black box, a crucial device that records flight data and cockpit conversations. The information it contains will be key to reconstructing the chain of events that led to the crash.

Preliminary reports suggest a possible dual engine failure caused by bird strikes shortly after takeoff, though this has not yet been officially confirmed by investigators.

Relief operations continued late into Thursday evening, with fire brigades, NDRF teams, and other emergency responders working tirelessly at the crash site. The severely damaged hostel building is reportedly at risk of collapse, adding further challenges to ongoing rescue efforts.

Further updates are awaited as investigations and relief work continue.
