Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh Test 2025: Bangladesh Cricket Board announced a 16 -member team on Wednesday (June 4) for the two -Test series against Sri Lanka. Bangladesh has decided to keep Najmul Hussain Shanto the Test captain for another year.
This will be Bangladesh’s first series in the 2025-2027 ICC World Test Championship (WTC) cycle.
Wicketkeeper batsman Litton Das has returned, who could not play the previous series due to injury. At the same time, fast bowler Ebad Hussain has also come in the team, who played the last international match for Bangladesh in July 2023. Left -arm spinner Hasan Murad and right -hand fast bowler Nahid Rana have also been included in the team.
Recently, three players from the team selected for the Test series against Zimbabwe have been shown the way out against Sri Lanka. Which includes left -arm spinner Tanveer Islam, fast bowler Tanjim Hasan Saqib and opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board issued a statement during the announcement of the Test team saying, “Top order batsman Najmul Hussain Shanto has been retained as a Test captain of Bangladesh for another year, who will continue the role of leadership handled by him in 2024. All-rounder Mehdi Hasan Miraj is also surrounded as sub-contracts.”
The first Test match between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will be played in Galle from 17 June, while the second Test match will be in Columbon from 25 June. The Bangladesh team will leave for Sri Lanka on 13 June.
