If you are troubled by repeatedly rising petrol and diesel prices and want your car to give more mileage, then you need to adopt some easy but effective methods. These methods will not only save fuel but will also increase the age of your car engine.

1. Use air conditioner carefully

Constant use of AC in the car has a bad effect on mileage. Especially keeping AC running during traffic in cities puts additional pressure on the engine. So when there is no need, it is better to close AC.

2. Maintain tire pressure

Low tire pressure increases friction in tire, which increases pressure on the engine and costs more fuel. It is necessary for fuel efficiency to check the pressure of tires every week and maintain it at the recommended level.

3. Make gear change at the right time

When the car’s RPM is between 2000 and 2500, changing gear is considered ideal. This gives the engine a balanced power and the consumption of fuel is controlled. Walking on the wrong gear not only reduces mileage but also causes damage to the engine.

4. Avoid sudden acceleration

Repeatedly accelerating or sudden braking increases pressure on the engine and also increases fuel consumption. Smarted and controlled driving not only increases mileage, but also improves driving experience.

5. Avoid high speed

If you want to increase mileage, driving at a speed of 60–80 km/h is best suitable. The car spends more fuel at high speed and the engine also heats up quickly.
