Paul Hogan has candidly spoken out about his son Chance, revealing that he considers him a "terrible person", reports the .

The iconic Crocodile Dundee actor, who is 85 years old and lives in the United States near his 27 year old son, confessed that despite his desire to return to Australia, it appears unlikely to happen in the near future.

Chance's series of disturbing posts on social media has caused alarm among his followers. Earlier in the year, he posted an unsettling video while intoxicated, imploring someone to end his life as he drank wine, lamenting, "This is my life."

However, Paul has disclosed that his main reason for remaining stateside is his youngest son, whom he shares with his former wife Linda Kozlowski, although he also mentioned business obligations. He expressed on the Today Show that if not for these reasons, he would go back to Australia "tomorrow".

During the same interview, discussing Chance, Paul admitted, "He's alright. Better than he gets."

Despite the negative press surrounding his son, the acclaimed star stated: "He gets a lot of tabloid stuff, but he's a terrible person because he knows they're watching him and he puts something on for them."

Adding to the worries, earlier this year in January, Chance broadcasted a distressing video of himself through Instagram Stories. In the video, visibly intoxicated and drinking wine in public, he stated despairingly: "This is my life. This is what it's been reduced to."

While pointing the camera at his laptop, he beseeched, "Please. Please kill me, I'm begging you."

Despite Chance's worrying social media activity, Paul reassured the Daily Mail in December, saying: "It's a lot of made up stuff and a lot of it he (Chance) does on purpose."

Just a month before, an insider suggested that Paul was facing a dilemma regarding Chance's online rants and conduct. A family friend confided to New Idea, "Paul is at a crossroads over how to handle all this."

They revealed a potential move for the family, stating, "One option would be to move back to Australia, but Chance doesn't want to leave America. So they're stuck in limbo, which is so hard on Paul and very hard for his friends to sit back and watch."

They added: "It's high time this kid got his act together and stopped stressing out his dad. Paul really deserves that... after all the love and support he's shown," also mentioning that Chance was "his own worst enemy".

Disturbing Instagram posts have included the aspiring musician showing off injuries while topless in a car with pals and ranting that something unknown was "about to begin". Sharing a countdown to an unknown event, he said: "One hour and 25 minutes, 24 minutes now in fact. That's when it commences, let's see."

Chance has been living in Los Angeles since his parents divorced in 2013 after they had been married for 24 years.
