In Argentina’s Primera Division, River Plate defeated Atletico Tucuman 4-1 at home, scoring twice in each half.

Franco Albanell gave the visitors the lead, but goals from Leandro Gonzalez and Miguel Borja gave River a 2-1 advantage at the half.


In the last 20 minutes, Maximiliano Meza and Facundo Colidio increased the lead as River snapped a five-game league losing streak, according to Xinhua.


With 21 points, Marcelo Gallardo’s club is now eighth in the Primera Division rankings, six points behind leaders Velez Sarsfield. Atletico Tucuman is still in second place, two points behind Velez.


Earlier on Friday, Deportivo Riestra defeated Huracan 1-0 at home thanks to a penalty kick from Jonathan Herrera in the 71st minute, continuing their strong league play.


In other Primera Division games, Central Cordoba defeated neighborhood rivals Instituto 2-1 at home, while Union and Lanus drew 1-1.
