  • Beetroot puree – 1

  • Ghee or oil for kneading – 4 teaspoons

  • Ajwain – 1 teaspoon

  • Lukewarm water – 1 cup

  • Ghee or oil for frying

  • salt to taste

1. First, peel the beetroot and make its puree.
2. Now take flour in a vessel and add cumin seeds, salt, celery and beetroot puree in it.
3. Knead the mathri dough. Water can be used if needed.

5. Now cut it in the shape of a heart and make mathri. If you want, you can give it any other shape too.
6. Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the mathri on medium to low flame. This way beetroot mathri will be ready. Now you can serve it.
