Madhya Pradesh:– Dengue cases are increasing rapidly. There were 505 cases in July, which increased to 950 in August. In the first eight days of September, the number of patients affected by dengue in the state has increased to more than six hundred.

The cases may increase rapidly as the number of mosquitoes increases when the weather opens. Three patients have died due to this disease in September. However, the health department is considering these as suspicious as the ELISA report is not positive.

According to the report of the Department of Public Health and Medical Education, this year the highest number of cases are being found in Indore.
After this, the maximum number of patients have been found in Gwalior and Rewa. 2800 cases have been reported since January.
Indore and Rewa have seen almost three times more cases compared to the same period last year.
Officials said that ELISA testing facility is available in all districts. Dengue testing is being done in 64 labs.

The government does not accept the rapid kit test
According to the guidelines of the Central Government, even if a patient is found infected in the test conducted by the rapid kit, he is not considered an afflicted person. The urban body and the health department also take measures to prevent mosquitoes around the houses of those victims who test positive in the ELISA test, and not through the rapid kit.

Most of the tests in private hospitals are being done using rapid kits. The government does not include patients who test positive as infected. If these are also included, the number of dengue patients in the state can be almost 1.5 times the government figures.

Another shortcoming is that the department is not able to estimate the increase in patients in a respective year based on the investigation of changes in the genetic structure of the virus.
