Not participating in the 'Vote Bachao, Desh Bachao Maharally' organized at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi has cost 202 officials of the Indian Youth Congress dearly. The organization has suspended more than 200 office-bearers from seven states with immediate effect. These include maximum 60 officials from Madhya Pradesh. According to sources, absence from the rally and alleged indifference towards the organization have been cited as the main reasons for the action.

Action against Youth Congress officials in seven states

Indian Youth Congress has taken organizational action in Gujarat, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand. State wise suspension figures are as follows:

• Gujarat: 49 officials


• West Bengal: 26 officials


• Uttar Pradesh (Central): 11 officials


• Telangana: 14 officials


• Haryana: 10 officials


• Madhya Pradesh: 60 officials


• Jharkhand: 32 officials

In this way a total of 202 officials have been suspended. State Youth Congress vice president, general secretary and secretary level leaders have come under attack.

Did not get satisfactory answer on keeping distance from the rally

According to sources, answers were sought from the concerned officials for not attending the rally. However, his reply was not found satisfactory, after which the decision of suspension was taken on the instructions of the national leadership.

Madhya Pradesh Youth Congress has confirmed the action by issuing a statement on social media platform X. According to the organization, being absent from the 'Anti-Vote Theft Rally' organized at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi on November 1, 2026 was considered organizational indiscipline. On this basis, the concerned leaders have been suspended till further orders.

Action may be taken in other states also

Youth Congress has clarified that this step has been taken to maintain organizational discipline and ensure compliance with the instructions of the national leadership. Sources say that action may also be taken against officials of some other states in the coming days.
