Ram Anuj Dhar Dwivedi, founder administrator of Siddheshwar Mahadev Seva Sansthan, Mahuav Pandey, said that Dhanteras is actually not a festival of wealth, but the birth anniversary of Lord Dhanvantari and the festival of health. During the churning of the ocean, Lord Dhanvantari appeared with the nectar pot. He is considered the father of Ayurveda medical system.

Acharya Dheeraj Dwivedi Yagnik told that on Dhanteras, the importance of health should be understood instead of wealth. The tradition of worshiping Lord Dhanvantari and donating lamps to Yamraj is associated with the wish for protection from diseases and untimely death.

Ram Anuj Dhar Dwivedi said that it is not appropriate to limit Dhanteras only to the purchase of gold, silver and expensive items. On this day, a resolution should also be taken towards the conservation of Ayurveda and medicines. He said that there is no greater wealth in the world than good health. Therefore, one should try to earn wealth in the form of health by worshiping Lord Dhanvantari.
