Popular singer has officially announced her separation from businessman husband . On Tuesday (November 3), she shared the news on her Instagram handle. The singer also requested kindness and privacy from her fans as she moves forward.



Kanika Kapoor confirms split from husband


Taking to social media, she wrote, "Dear friends and family, after much thought and consideration, my husband and I are going our separate ways. I am grateful for the time we shared and wish him well for the future. I sincerely ask for kindness and respect for our privacy as we move forward. Love, Kanika."








For the unversed, Kanika Kapoor and Gautam Hathiramani took wedding vows with each other on May 20, 2022. They got married in an intimate ceremony in London.



Who is Gautam Hathiramani?


Born in Jos, Nigeria, he spent a large part of his growing-up years in the UK. He completed his schooling at Highgate School before attending Collingham Sixth Form College in London. He went on to study Business Administration with Italian at the European Business School in London.








Gautam comes from a business family and holds a senior position at the Dana Group of Companies, which has a strong presence across West Africa. Gautam currently serves as the Group Deputy Managing Director. He is also associated with Dana Plast Limited, where he reportedly works as the Managing Director, according to Bollywood Shaadis.




The Dana Group has interests in several industries, including aviation, automobiles, healthcare and manufacturing. Gautam joined the family-run business in 2006 after gaining some work experience through internships. One of these was with the Economics Department at Lehman Brothers in the UK.




Kanika Kapoor and Gautam reportedly knew each other for around 15 years before their wedding. Their first meeting took place at a music event in London. What began as a friendship eventually turned into a relationship, and the couple later got married.




The Baby Doll singer once shared how Gautam and her family warmly welcomed her and three kids with her ex-husband.




The singer, is known for songs like Baby Doll and Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan. In the note, she has not disclosed further details about the circumstances surrounding the separation.




The announcement of their separation comes four years after the couple exchanged vows. Kanika was previously married to Raj Chandok. The former couple separated in 2012. She is a proud mother of three kids- Aayana, Samara and Yuvraj.
