Patna : The state education department has sanctioned Rs 300 crore for 1,294 aided schools towards pending grants for secondary and higher secondary institutions, education minister Mithilesh Tiwari said on Sunday.




Of the amount, Rs 60 crore has been approved for 695 secondary schools for the 2019-20 academic session, while Rs 239 crore has been sanctioned for 599 higher secondary schools for sessions from 2017-19 to 2018-20, Tiwari said.




He said the total allocation, including grants for aided colleges, would be Rs 416 crore. The state govt was committed to protecting the interests of teachers and non-teaching staff and ensuring smooth functioning of educational institutions, he added.




Tiwari said teachers played an important role in ensuring quality education and the govt was working on issues concerning them. The departmental communique said teachers of aided schools and colleges welcomed the decision and expressed gratitude to the chief minister and education minister.
