Trichy : A 32-bed special ward has been set up at Mahatma Gandhi memorial govt hospital (MGMGH) to treat patients suspected of having dengue . Hospital authorities said the ward has been equipped with mosquito nets , essential medicines and other facilities, with doctors and medical staff.




Ten beds each have been earmarked for male and female patients, and the remaining 10 in the high-dependency unit (HDU) and two in the IMCU to manage patients with complications. Doctors said anyone with persistent fever, body pain or other dengue-like symptoms should seek medical attention without delay.




Trichy district has recorded slight rainfall in the last few days. From 19th till 20th morning, Thuraiyur recorded the highest rainfall with 16 mm rainfall, followed by Kovilpatti in Marungapuri block.
