If you are tired of eating the same type of pulses every day, it is time to make a change in your diet. This simple recipe of Shahi Dal will give a new taste to your food. In this, milk, ghee and spices are used along with lentils, due to which its taste becomes quite different and creamy from normal lentils.
This recipe doesn't require expensive ingredients; You can make it with the ingredients available at home.

First, take dal of your choice like moong dal or chana dal. Wash the lentils thoroughly and soak them in water for some time. Then cook it with water until the dal becomes completely soft. Once cooked, mash the dal lightly, taking care that the dal should not be too thin, as Shahi dal tastes better in thick texture.

Now heat some ghee in a pan. Add cumin seeds to it, then add finely chopped onion and ginger-garlic and fry. Cook the onion until light golden. After this add turmeric, red chilli and some garam masala. Do not fry the spices for too long, otherwise they may taste bitter. Now add prepared dal to it and mix well.

When the lentils and spices mix well, slowly add milk. While adding milk, keep stirring the pulse continuously and keep the gas flame low, so that the risk of milk curdling is reduced. Add salt as per taste. If you want to increase the aroma and taste, you can also add Kasuri Methi in it. Cook everything on low flame for about 2 minutes.
way to give royal touch
When the pulses and milk mix well and the mixture becomes slightly thick, turn off the gas. Add some ghee and finely chopped green coriander on top. If you want to make it even richer, you can also add some cream, chopped cashews or almonds while serving. With this, both the taste and look of the dal will become royal.
