Shubman Gill has completed 1,000 runs in the 2025-27 World Test Championship season. Gill has achieved this milestone in just 10 Test matches. He became the first Indian captain to complete 1,000 runs in a single WTC cycle. Previously, Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane and Yashasvi Jaiswal have completed 1,000 runs as players. However, Gill is the first Indian captain to do so. Gill has scored 1,024 runs in 17 innings at an average of 68.26 in the 2025-27 WTC season. Gill has so far scored 5 centuries and 2 fifties.

Gill became the fourth player to score 300 runs in the WTC

Gill completed 3,000 Test runs in the second Test against Sri Lanka, becoming the fourth youngest player to achieve the feat. He accomplished this feat at the age of 26 years and 349 days. Sachin Tendulkar is the youngest Indian batsman to reach 3,000 Test runs at the age of 23 years and 228 days. Virender Sehwag is second in the list, having achieved the feat at the age of 26 years and 157 days, while Dilip Vengsarkar is third at the age of 26 years and 263 days.

Shubman Gill has become the second player to score 1000 runs as a captain in Test cricket. Bradman scored 3,147 runs in 38 innings at an average of 101.51. Gill has bagged the second position in this list. He has so far scored 1,139 runs at an average of 75.93.
