Mahatma Vidur has presented many important principles of his life and rules for a happy life. He was the Chief Minister of Hastinapur during the Mahabharata period and was known for his intelligence and policies. His ideas are relevant even today and it is necessary to follow them for a happy life.
There is a famous verse in Mahabharata under Vidur Niti, in which Vidur advises people to stay away from bad deeds and evil. According to this verse, seven things should be avoided in life. Let us discuss these in detail.
1. Unnecessary foreign travel – It is not advisable to stay away from home without any reason, because it leads to feeling of loneliness and sadness.
2. Friendship with sinners – Choose your friends wisely and stay away from sinners.
3. Relationship with a stranger – Relationship with strangers can cause problems in the family.
4. Exception – Avoid defaming others and lying, as this weakens relationships.
5. Theft – A person who steals never gets happiness, so earn money by working hard.
6. Gossip – Gossiping about others and spreading rumors is wrong, it creates disputes in the society.
7. Intoxication and alcohol – Consumption of intoxicants and alcohol destroys intelligence, health and respect. If you are addicted to them, leave it.
