Dhanrua. On one hand, the government is claiming to improve health services and there is no problem in the salaries of government employees, while on the other hand, the case of ANM working under NHM at Dhanrua Community Health Center not being paid the first salary for four months has come to light. The special thing is that the hospital in-charge has cited non-availability of funds as the reason for the delay in salary payment. ANMs are facing financial problems due to not receiving their salaries for four months.
Regarding this, a group of ANMs has given a written application to the Medical Officer in-charge of the hospital, demanding payment of pending salaries. In the application, the employees have stated that they have been rendering their services regularly since their appointment, but till now their salaries have not been paid. When the Medical Officer in-charge of the hospital was talked to in the matter, he said that due to lack of funds, the ANM has not been paid yet. At present the funds have not arrived. Once the funds are received, the pending salaries of all concerned ANMs will be paid.
In such a situation, the question arises that when the government claims that there are adequate arrangements for payment of government schemes and personnel, then why do these women health workers at the grassroots level, who have been waiting for salaries for four months, have to wait for funds for payment? Now ANMs are waiting for funds to arrive and payment of their pending salaries.
