Shirva: Rev. Fr. Charles Menezes, who previously served as the Parish Priest of Mother of Sorrows Church in Udupi, took charge as the Parish Priest of the Shirva Varado (Deanery) and Our Lady of Health Church on the evening of May 8. The position had become vacant after Msgr. Dr. Leslie D’Souza, who served as the Parish Priest here, took charge as the Bishop of Udupi Diocese.

The new Parish Priest was welcomed at the main entrance of the church with jasmine garlands by Rev. Fr. Rolwin Aranha (Principal of Don Bosco English Medium School and Assistant Parish Priest of Shirva Church), Rev. Fr. Anil Rodrigues, Rev. Fr. Roshan D’Souza SDB, Julian Rodrigues (Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council), Gilbert Pinto (Secretary), Shalini Corda (Coordinator of Church Commissions), and the sisters of Nativity Convent.
