Yes, the state government has approved the 134 km long four-lane highway project connecting Nerul, Bandra, Paith, Shiroli, Pabala, Malthan and Shirur. This proposed highway is expected to facilitate the communication between Mumbai, Pune, Marathwada and Ahilyanagar. Also this will help in reducing traffic congestion on Pune-Shirur route. According to information, this highway will be connected to Mumbai and Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA). After the approval of the state government, now the further administrative and technical process of this project will be completed rapidly. The 134 km long highway is also likely to reach industrial areas like Khed, Talegaon, Chakan, Ranjangaon and Supa. This will lead to faster transportation of raw materials and finished products, saving industry costs and most importantly time. Locals will also benefit from this road. Because this highway is expected to provide great employment opportunities for the local youth. Also, logistics, warehousing and service sector will also get a boost due to this project.
