Lorraine Kelly has issued an emotional message to viewers after confirming her ITV daytime show will disappear from screens for several weeks. The long-running presenter took to social media to thank fans for their support after appearing unwell earlier in the week. Lorraine's message came as her self-titled programme prepares to step away from the schedule following major changes to ITV's daytime line-up.
In a heartfelt video shared with her 591,000 Instagram followers, Lorraine reassured viewers she was beginning to recover from illness while explaining why the show will soon be off air. She began: "Hi there! Just wanted to say thanks for all the get-well wishes. I'm feeling a whole lot better. But this has been a bad lurgy. If you're going through it yourself, you have my sympathies. It's a tough one. But I'm getting there."
Lorraine then confirmed she would be absent from screens for several weeks due to recent programming changes. She told fans: "I will be off, though, for a good few weeks. Not because I'm not well, but of course because there have been changes to the show.
"I now do 30 weeks a year. So I won't see you for a wee while." Thanking viewers for their continued support, Lorraine added: "But I want to thank you for sticking with me through all the changes, and I hope to see you when I'm back on air.
"I never take it for granted. And I really, really appreciate you tuning in. Thanks so, so much." Alongside the video, Lorraine shared a caption reiterating her gratitude to viewers and colleagues.
She wrote: "THANK YOU for sticking with me through all of the changes to the show and for your kind messages. I will be back soon and really looking forward to your company.

"Thanks to my top team and crew and all of the lovely guests who come on @lorraine to share their stories. I will miss you, but see you real soon." The presenter's update quickly sparked a wave of support from both fans and fellow television stars.
Strictly Come Dancing professional Amy Dowden commented: "Sending all the love, lovely lady @lorraine missed you this morning xxxx." Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid also posted: "Get well soon @lorrainekellysmith and loads of love."
Doctor Amir Khan, a regular expert on the programme, added: "We love you and hope you feel better xx." Friend Gabby, Roslin also sent a message of support, writing: "Wish you better, my lovely. Take good care of yourself, please. Sending huge love."
The update comes amid a major shake-up to ITV's daytime schedule. Lorraine's programme was recently reduced from a full hour to just 30 minutes and now airs for 30 weeks of the year instead of running every weekday. The changes are part of a wider restructuring of ITV Daytime, which led to around 200 job losses last year as the broadcaster reshaped its morning programming.
Under the new format, Good Morning Britain is extending its run time, while Lorraine will take periodic breaks from the schedule. Last week, stand-in host Christine Lampard confirmed the programme would pause for several weeks, with its next return expected in April.
