New Delhi: Smriti Mandhana has achieved a new achievement by scoring the fastest half-century so far in the WPL final. He took his team closer to victory by scoring 87 runs in 41 balls. This match was played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals at Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara, in which RCB registered a resounding victory. With this victory, Smriti Mandhana’s team captured the title for the second time, while Delhi Capitals had to face disappointment in the final for the fourth time. Smriti became the first woman from India to win the Orange Cap in WPL.
Chasing a target of over 200, RCB women’s team lost the wicket of Grace Harris in the second over. After this, the whole game revolved around Mandhana and Voll. Together they took control of the match against Delhi Capitals. Although Delhi Capitals tried to make a comeback by taking three wickets, Radha Yadav’s calm and composed play in the last over led the team to victory.
Smriti Mandhana gave a great start to her team while chasing the target of 204 runs given by Delhi Capitals. He hit boundaries at regular intervals and played excellent shots all around the ground. He scored the fastest fifty ever in a WPL final, completing his half-century in just 23 balls.
