News India Live, Digital Desk: If you have an Aadhar card, this news may blow your mind. Indian government agency UIDAI has taken the biggest action so far to crack down on fraud and duplicate data. According to recent data, the authority has 2.5 crore Aadhaar cards canceled (Deactivate/Cancel) Have done.

If you have not updated your Aadhaar for a long time or any information in it is suspicious, your card may also be included in this list.

Why did UIDAI take this strict step?

The main reason behind cancellation of Aadhaar card is ‘Cleaning Process’. UIDAI has given several important reasons behind this:

Duplicate Aadhar Card: In many cases it was seen that more than one Aadhaar card was issued in the name of the same person. Such ‘duplicate’ cards have been blocked during biometric matching.

Fake Documents: Investigation found that lakhs of people had used wrong or fake documents to get Aadhaar made. These cards were declared invalid when detected during the verification process.

System errors and suspicious data: There were also some cards in which biometric data or demographic information was not fed correctly, which was creating a security risk.
