Lucknow: In the first Visvesvaraya T-20 Cup cricket competition organized under the supervision of Uttar Pradesh Public Works Department (PWD), the team of PWD Striker (Sports Club), Lucknow performed brilliantly and won the title. In the final match, PWD Striker defeated PWD Prayagraj Super Kings and captured the trophy.

In the final match, after winning the toss and batting first, PWD Striker Lucknow scored 161 runs at the loss of six wickets in 20 overs. On behalf of the team, Vivek Yadav batted brilliantly and played a useful innings of 53 runs. While chasing the target, PWD Prayagraj Super Kings team could not stand in front of Striker’s bowlers and were reduced to 111 runs in 18.4 overs. On behalf of PWD Striker, Sunit Patel bowled strongly and took four wickets, while Rajesh Singh took two wickets.

Vivek Yadav was chosen man of the match for his brilliant performance, while Sunit Patel received the best bowler award. Vivek Yadav was also awarded the title of Best Batsman and Man of the Series due to his excellent performance throughout the tournament. Harsh Singh of Kashi Warriors received the award for the best bowler of the series. In the prize distribution ceremony, Head of Department of Public Works Department AK Dwivedi honored the winning team PWD Strikers (Sports Club) Lucknow with a prize money of Rs 1 lakh 11 thousand and the runner-up team PWD Prayagraj Super Kings with a prize money of Rs 51 thousand.
