The Assam Cricket Association (ACA) has suspended four cricketers namely Amit Sinha, Ishan Ahmed, Aman Tripathi and Abhishek Thakuri for their alleged involvement in corruption during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025. These players had represented Assam at various stages and an FIR has been registered against them by the crime branch of the state police. He is accused of trying to influence and provoke some Assam players participating in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

ACA Secretary Sanatan Das said, “After the allegations surfaced, BCCI’s Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) conducted an inquiry. ACA has also initiated criminal proceedings. Prima facie, there are indications of serious misconduct affecting the integrity of the game.” Assam’s Syed Mushtaq League matches were played in Lucknow from 26 November to 8 December and failed to enter the ongoing Super League stage.


“They have been suspended to avoid further escalation of the situation. The suspension will remain in place till the final outcome of the inquiry or further decision from the association,” Das said.



During the period of suspension, these players are prohibited from participating in any state level tournament or match organized by ACA, their district units or affiliated clubs. During the period of suspension, he is prohibited from taking part in any work to cricket as match official, coach, umpire etc.


Das said that all district associations have been directed to strictly comply with the order and clubs and academies under their jurisdiction have been directed to inform about the ACA’s decision.
