An American woman, who spent two and a half months in India with her family, has shared a post showing the cultural and social differences between the two countries, which is now gaining attention on social media. Anna Håkansson, a mother of two, says she knew India would be different from her country, but she didn't know exactly how different the two countries would actually be. Anna has told these things in an Instagram post which has gone viral.
From food to people's behaviour, Anna has mentioned many things in her post. Anna first talks about honking in India, the post states that honking is very common in India. After this she talks about food, saying that in America spicy food means slightly spicy food, but in India it is food which can cause digestive problems. The post said that in America people do not pay attention to others, whereas in India people ask about everything.
It is also seen in the post that unlike America, in India, garbage is not thrown at the right place, but is thrown wherever one feels like. In America, traffic rules are followed, whereas Indian roads are difficult for outsiders to understand, they are very complex. America has many seasons, but India has summer, rain and extreme heat. While America has predominantly Catholic churches, India has a lot of temples and festivals. Living in America is very expensive, whereas in India the expenses are manageable. In America there are small families, whereas in India several generations can be seen living under one roof. Anna has described these things as the main differences between America and India.
