On the occasion of Teachers' Day, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave a big gift to lakhs of teachers of the state. In the state-level Teachers' Honor Ceremony organized in the capital Lucknow, the Chief Minister announced that all the teachers of the state will now be able to avail the benefit of the cashless treatment facility. This facility will not only be for the teachers of primary, upper primary, secondary, aided schools, and colleges, but will also cover Shikshamitras, instructors, and cooks.
Making this historic announcement, the Chief Minister said that about nine lakh teacher families will be directly benefited by this decision. Now, teachers and their families will not have to face a financial crisis in case of any illness or emergency. CM Yogi called it a symbol of the government's gratitude towards the contribution of teachers. The Chief Minister honored the teachers, distributed tablets, and inaugurated the smart class in a program organized in the Lok Bhavan auditorium on the occasion of Teachers' Day.
The department will complete the process as soon as possible.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said in his address that I would say to the teachers across the state You guys do well, we are with you. On Teachers' Day, you all will have in your mind what else can happen. We want to announce today that we will provide the benefit of cashless treatment to all the teachers of the state. Along with this, we will also connect Shiksha Mitra, Instructor, and Cook with it. That is, about 9 lakh teachers of Uttar Pradesh, i.e., 9 lakh families, will get the benefit of this facility. The Basic Education, Secondary Education, and Higher Education Department will work to provide the facility of cashless treatment within a time limit by completing all the formalities as soon as possible.
A decision was also taken to increase the honorarium of Shiksha Mitra and Instructors.
The Chief Minister also announced that a high-level committee has been formed to increase the honorarium of Shiksha Mitra and Instructors. After the report of the committee comes, the government will soon take a positive decision on this. He said that the government's decision is because these people also give strength to this campaign by walking step by step with us. The report for this is going to come very soon, and we will try to do something better in that direction. He said that teachers are not only knowledge givers, but are the creators who strengthen the foundation of the nation. Concern for their respect and facilities is the priority of the government.
Operation Kayakalp and Project Alankar changed the picture.
CM Yogi said that campaigns like Operation Kayakalp and Project Alankar were run to improve the condition of schools in the state. Under Operation Kayakalp, 1.36 lakh schools were connected with 19 basic facilities. At the same time, through Project Alankar, 2,100 schools have been provided with new buildings and a safe environment so far. Schemes like Nipun Bharat Mission and Bal Vatika are increasing the language and mathematical skills of children as well as connecting them with nutrition and basic education.
Freedom from the stigma of copying
The Chief Minister said that before 2017, the Secondary Education Council had become a hub of copying. Children from outside states also used to come here and pass with the help of copying. Today, transparent examinations are conducted under CCTV surveillance. 56 lakh students appear for the examination, and the results are declared within just one month. He said that now the students of the UP Board are no less than any board.
