Patna. Good news for farmers of Bihar! Now, to improve irrigation facility and make farming more beneficial, a grant of up to ₹ 40,000 is being given by the state government for installing personal tubewells. This scheme has been started with the objective of ‘irrigation water up to every farm’, so that even small and medium farmers of the state can easily adopt modern irrigation systems.
Purpose of the scheme
There are many areas in the state where it is difficult to do farming by depending on rain. Keeping this problem in mind, financial assistance is being given to farmers under the ‘Chief Minister Private Tubewell Scheme’. The purpose of this is that farmers can irrigate their fields by applying their own tube wells throughout the year and increase in production.
What will be found under the scheme?
Farmers will be given subsidy of up to a maximum of ₹ 40,000 for installing tube wells. This benefit will be provided under the Micro Irrigation Scheme. Under the scheme, farmers adopting technologies like drip and micro sprinkler are being given priority.
Who can apply?
All the farmers of Bihar state who want to install private tube wells in their fields. The applicant’s bank account is required to be seeded from Aadhaar (for DBT). Both farmer group or individual farmers are eligible for this scheme.
application procedure
Interested farmers can apply online by visiting the official website of the Horticulture Horticulture, Government of Bihar: Horticulture.bihar.gov.in, after filling the application form there, required documents such as land proof, Aadhaar card, bank account details etc. will have to be uploaded. After the application, the farm will be surveyed by the concerned technical team.
