In Himachal Pradesh, the monsoon is raining as a wrath of nature this time. Due to continuous heavy rains, the scene of destruction in the state has spread. While 105 people have lost their lives in the last 25 days, 35 people are still missing. 1046 houses in this disaster have completely or partially collapsed. So far, the state has lost assets worth about Rs 786 crore.


In many parts of the state, serious problems like landslides, roads closed, power system stalled and water crisis are coming out. The most impact has been seen in Mandi, Kangra, Kullu and Chamba districts. The Meteorological Department has warned of more rain in the coming days, due to which the situation is expected to deteriorate.


Threat of landslide at 22 places, 199 roads closed


Rain continued in most parts of the state on Tuesday. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of landslides at 22 places in the state. Due to this, 199 roads have been closed for traffic. Roads have been washed away due to water flow on many national highways.


Electricity and water system crumble


68 transformers have been closed in the state, which disrupted electricity supply in many villages. Apart from this, 171 drinking water schemes have also been completely stalled. In Mandi district alone, 141 roads, 61 transformers and 142 water schemes have been affected. Many water schemes are not working in Kangra and Sirmaur districts.


105 people died, 35 still missing


According to the report of the Emergency Operations Center, 105 people have died and 186 people have been injured in rain -caused accidents in the last 25 days. The maximum number of deaths have been recorded in Mandi (21), Kangra (17), Kullu (11) and Chamba (9) districts.


1046 houses collapsed, 188 shops and 798 cowsheds destroyed


So far 1046 houses in natural disaster have either been partially damaged or have been completely collapsed. Also, 188 shops and 798 cowsheds have also been destroyed. 856 houses, 188 shops and 644 cowsheds have been ruined in Mandi district alone.


Heavy loss to agriculture and animal husbandry


Heavy rains and floods have not only damaged public wealth, but have also caused widespread damage to agriculture and animal husbandry. So far, 21,500 poultry birds and 954 other pets have been killed.


Most loss to the property of water power department


According to the government report, the Water Power Department has suffered the most loss so far. The department’s assets worth about Rs 414 crore have been affected. The government has instructed the officials to stay on high alert and speed up relief work.
