Indian fast bowler Mohammad Siraj has been fined by the ICC for violating the code of conduct during the Lord’s Test against England. In the sixth over of England’s second innings on Sunday, he celebrated aggressive celebrations after dismissing opener Ben Docket, which gave him a fine of 15% of the match fee and a demerit point.

Siraj dismissed Docket for 12 runs

The incident occurred when Siraj dismissed Docket for 12 runs. The batsman tried to play the ball towards the mid-on, but due to lack of proper guess of the ball, he directly caught Jasprit Bumrah. Soon after being dismissed, Siraj went close to Docket and reacted strongly and he also had a mild contact in the follow-three.

The ICC has considered it a violation of Article 2.5 created for players, stating that it is punishable to provoke his response with derogatory language, signal or sense after a batsman is dismissed. This is the second crime of Siraj in the last 24 months, which has now scored two demerit marks in his records. If a player earns four or more demerit marks in two years, then he automatically falls into the category of suspension.
