Rajasthan’s Jaipur Vaibhav Suryavanshi, 14, was praised by Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain Riyan Parag for his historic century during the Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Gujarat Titans. After the victory, Parag said that words cannot describe how Suryavanshi defeated elite GT bowlers.

A 14-year-old Suryavanshi crushed past a number of well-known players to become the youngest T20 centurion ever and the quickest Indian to ever register a century in the IPL, giving the cricketing world its newest sensation.

“It was incredible, we have spent two months with him, and we have seen what he can do,” Parag said after the game in admiration of Suryavanshi’s work. However, it is indescribable to see him do this against GT’s elite bowlers.

The squad was aiming to finish far sooner, according to Parag, even though they managed to hunt down the 210-run total in 15.5 overs.

“You can learn every day watching the IPL,” the captain added in reference to his team’s prospects of qualifying, as they now lie in eighth place with three victories in ten games. Prior to the game, RR put GT in the batting order. The top knocks for GT, which reached 209/4 in 20 overs, were half-centuries from captain Shubman Gill (84 in 50 balls, with five fours and four sixes) and Jos Buttler (50* in 26 balls, with three fours and four sixes). Maheesh Theekshana (2/35) was the top bowler for RR.

During the run-chase, Vaibhav Suryanvanshi (101 in 38 balls, with seven fours and 11 sixes) and Jaiswal (70* in 40 balls, with nine fours and two sixes) outscored the opponents with a rapid 166-run partnership in only 71 balls. Later, Riyan Parag made a brief appearance and led his side to victory in 15.5 overs with a score of 32* in 15 balls, including two fours and two sixes.

With three victories and seven defeats, RR has six points and is in seventh place. With six victories and three defeats, GT has 12 points and is in third position.
