Walton Goggins faces backlash for praising SNL skit mocking co-star Aimee Lou Wood
Walton Goggins, who is currently trending all over the Internet for for his role in The White Lotus, has come under a major scrutiny. It happened after he publicly praised a Saturday Night Live (SNL) sketch that parodied the TV show and mocked his co-star Aimee Lou Wood.
The very recent SNL episode featured a pre-recorded skit titled “White Potus.” It criticised the show by placing political figures in a luxury resort setting. In the sketch, comedian Sarah Sherman portrayed Wood’s character, Chelsea, using exaggerated prosthetic teeth and a pronounced accent. He criticized the portrayal as “mean and unfunny,” expressing disappointment over the focus on her appearance.
Despite Wood’s objections, Goggins, 53, expressed his approval of the sketch. He commented “Hahahahahhahaha Amazzzingggg” on SNL’s Instagram post and shared the video on his Instagram Stories, calling it “Smashing.” He also praised Jon Hamm’s performance in the skit, joking, “Jon… I knew I was miscast.”
Fans on social media reacted to the same and expressed how they are not very happy with same. A user wrote, “This is so unacceptable, we didn’t expect such kind of a behaviour from him. So so so disappointed in him.” Another user was like, “Whatttt why would he do something like this?
