Remembering her sister, Rinke Khanna, who is an actress as well, was the focus of Twinkle Khanna’s post to daughhters of Bollywood stars Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia, shared on Instagram on their mom’s birthday, 2nd June. Now narrator, Twinkle offered fans an insight into their sibling bond which is her specialty considering her author background.

During the post, family black and white photos with their father mixed with holiday themed selfies were shared. A glimpse into the warm memories them as children were stored in was given during these snaps, that were taken during December vacations in December of 2023.

Twinkle describes the physical banter and differences between her and sister with a sprinkle of humor, “My sister and I are a year apart. I was always the giant, and she was petite.” She shares how ‘at times’ the two looked like Tom and Jerry, while ‘from the other side’ Laurel and Hardy depending on the weight and told the relationship as siblings weren’t devoid of merciless teasing. ‘I died of laughter,’ he recalled.

Narrows big, tall, petite gap aside, the rest of the story includes her sister’s husband on the eccentric side of things noting the prank Twinkle did waiting until the funny side revealed itself. “You need to know we have different fathers,” she tells him. “My father is Vinod Khanna, and hers is Rajesh Khanna. Obviously that is reason I am tall and she is not.” The family did not know her sister was furious but hooked onto her signature wonderfully sharp wit.

The Supportive Sisters Helping Through Life

Even with all the teasing, Twinkle still made it a point to say how deep their bond is. “Whenever I am in trouble, she is the one who comes to my side first. She calls me every day, even if the only thing we talk about is small talk.” She went on to add, “I know for a fact that when the sun is shining down on me, she will for sure share that wide brimmed hat with me. Even if it is just to ‘throw some shade’ my way :)”

Twinkle ended off the post celebrating sisterhood saying, “Here’s to sisters — what would we do without them? What is the funniest thing your sister has done to you? Comment below and let me know.”

Where Are They Now?

Rinke Khanna moved away from acting almost two decades back. Her last film was Ek Din Anjaane Mein (2005) in which she starred alongside Mammootty. She also featured in Chameli alongside Kareena Kapoor.

Twinkle Khanna tied the knot with actor Akshay Kumar in 2001, and Rinke got married to businessman Samir Saran in 2003.
