Obnews Tech Desk: In recent times, a new and extremely dangerous scam has been spreading rapidly on WhatsApp, which is being called “Blur Image Scam”. This scam is designed in such a way that it takes advantage of your feelings and curiosity and implicates you in the trap. The scam starts with a blurred photo, which comes from an unknown number to your WhatsApp.
The caption is given with the blur image sent in this scam – “Are you in this photo?”, “Have you got your old photo!”, “Click and see who is this?” After reading the lines, most people click on that photo without thinking.
As soon as you try to open that photo, you are redirect on a fake website, where you are asked for personal details, bank account information, or OTP. In many cases this link can also put malware or virus in your mobile, which can make the phone completely hacked.
